On November 20th, the mechanical completion ceremony of the 10,000-ton battery-grade lithium carbonate project in Zabuye Salt Lake in Tibet. This project was contracted by CNCEC-ECEC.
The project is located in Zhongba County, Shigatse City, and is the first integrated project of comprehensive development and utilization of lithium and potassium resources in China. It has an annual output of 9,600 tons of battery-grade lithium carbonate, 2,400 tons of industrial lithium carbonate and 156,000 tons of potassium chloride. After the project putting into operation, the annual production of battery-grade lithium carbonate will be mainly used to prepare cathode materials for lithium-ion batteries, which can be used by about 200,000 to 300,000 electric cars, and can reduce carbon dioxide emissions by about 2 million tons per year compared with fuel vehicles, based on the annual driving of 20,000 kilometers per car. The project has a great significance to achieve the goal of "carbon peak and carbon neutrality".
At the same time, the project will promote the coordinated development of the local industrial chain, increase the income of local farmers and herdsmen, promote the rapid development of the county economy, and promote the green comprehensive utilization of mineral resources in Zhongba County.
